I am working on an art show for Santa Cruz artists to participate in called “The Mona Lisa”
I thought it would be a fun thing to get up to 50 artists to create their version, interpretation or Mona Lisa inspired piece in any medium they choose. So hoping to see some very cool creative work from our very talented local artists!
I am pretty close to finishing up mine and here is a wee little peek at her! We are planning an event at one of the many local wineries here in Santa Cruz! Stockwell Winery has come on board to host it. They have a grand space to hold all the artwork. We are planning a “First Friday” in September tentatively!!
SO keep your eyes peeled to come to the show if your local or I will be posting many photos of all the work after the fact!!
show flyer if your a Santa Cruz Artist and would like to participate:
Frank (now named Jett in his adopted home), what can I say about this sweet little boy…….
My former foster now forever staring in his portrait for me to oogle over!! Not sure if I would even sell this one to his new mommy yet! I just love it and of course the subject matter to boot!
This one is a 20×20 gallery edged canvas.
There is going to be a fundraiser and raffle for a local Santa Cruzian named Brooke Valentine. She HER2 Breast cancer and could use some support.
You can go to this link to read her story and see how you can help
I donated some artwork for the raffle and hope she gets a ton of raffle prizes to donate to raise the money she needs.
It makes the world of difference in my paintings when a client gets me some good quality closeups with a great expression.
Makes the artwork more captivating to look at!
Here is an example.
I am now painting Frank the Papillon and you can see how with his head tilt and looking directly at the camera it captures his spirit! 🙂
Well I have been busy working away at a few pieces. Started a bunch and will pick one to work on and if I need a break from it, will work on one of the others!
Today I sketched up “Frank”. He is my foster dog that is a papillon. He is going to his furever home this weekend. So this is kind of like my therapy when he goes!
I will miss this little guy!
